This is a well written mystery with a side helping of romance. The romance isn't integral to the story but it is believable.

Bobby is a mentally challenged adult who was once accused of murdering a young woman. Now, years later, he moves back to the town where it all happened and things get stirred up once again. Ben is one of the police officers in the small town that is helping to reopen the case but he wasn't there when it originally happened. Katie is like a little sister to Bobby. Katie's mother is a psychiatric nurse. She more or less adopted Bobby shortly after the murder and they have cared for him ever since.

The writing felt professional and polished. There were only a very few minor typos. The characters were well developed. Even the sections written from Bobby's POV were believable. I only had a couple of very minor complaints about the story. There were a couple of minor misunderstandings between Ben and Katie that were never resolved. I would have liked to see them cleared up. I also felt the ending of the mystery was a bit rushed. There were several parts of the final explanation that were only alluded to. There was one character alive that knew what happened and I think a confession from him would have cleared up a couple of the bits that were unclear.

Surprisingly well developed characters and a good story that kept me reading nonstop. A couple loose ends that could have been tied up, but maybe hoping for a sequel?
