I have never been disappointed in a Murakami book,however the translation of this particular book I did not like,the translator writes in an old very proper Castilian,Murakami reads best in a colloquial fashion,I hope it becomes available in English soon.Bda,bad choice of translator.

"Hombres sin mujeres" contiene algunos cuentos excelentes (Sherazade,...) pero el nivel de excelencia no se mantiene a lo largo de todo el libro.
Mi relato preferido fue Un órgano independiente. Es verdad, existen los Hombres sin mujeres.
I loved the collection of stories, but the spanish translation was a a bit wanting. At times I was turned off with the use of old fashioned, outdated spanish.
Siete historias-cuentos sinceras y honestas de hombres que por una circunstancia u otra han perdido a su mujer. Muy al estilo de Haruki Murakami con el cual nos abre otra vez su corazón para hacernos sentir en toda su extensión y profundidad sentimiento tales como abandono, soledad, nostalgia, esperanza, etc.

Buen libro pero de repente aburre. Redundante en las historias.
The book is well written and had some nice stories but I have to say it is not (except for the story about Gregory Samsa which to my taste was remarkably good). Still it is a nice view on how men handle different situations in which they are alone or single.
Muy bien escrito, lo que no sorprende, me parece un casi manifiesto anti femenino. Con todo, vale la pena leerlo
