I just finished reading "Temptation in a kilt" of the Bad Boys of the
Highlands serie by Victoria Roberts. It's a sexy scottish historical romance
as I like them. I loved her characters Laird Ciaran MacGregor and Rosalia Armstrong,
I also liked the other members of the MacGregor's family, Ciaran's two brothers.
Rosalia was a woman who was beaten by her mother and forced, by her
parents, to wed a Lord, she did not want to marry. She only wanted a husband
who would loved her and wanted her. So she decides to escape and go to her grandmother
who lives in the Highlands. She disguises herself as a young man and leaves her family.
While running away, she falls off her horse and is recued by some men. One of them
is Laird Ciaran MacGregor..... I will stop here so you can read what happens!
It was a marvelous scottish aventure with tenderness and sexual chemistry
between Ciaran and Rosalia. The moment I started reading this wonderful
adventure, I was hooked and could not put it down. Very well written by Ms. Roberts.
She is a very descriptive writer, I could almost visualize the people and theirs surroundings.
If this is her first romance, then, I better watch her second book. It was a delighful read.
Victoria Roberts is an author of Highland romance full of tenderness and passion!
If you are a fan of Highlanders and Warriors you will live a great adventure and will not be
disappointed by this book! I will definitely be reading more books by Ms. Roberts
I devoured this book! I highly recommend this scottish romance!

I read books like these to escape to a different time and often wonder if my own ancestors might have lived and loved like these characters did. I know it's silly, but I'm a sucker for it. I love these kinds of books, their simple, sexy, and adventuress. The characters are easy to keep track of too. I often get so distracted trying to keep up with all the character in some books, that I often just give up on a book. Not this one, it was just enough. I enjoyed the surprises too. I look forward to reading more books by Victoria Roberts.
I could not put this book down!!! This was an Excellent story! There was a little of This and That in this book, the story just flowed. Of course the the Laird in this story it so Hot, Honorable and Hot! I Loved Rosalia, even though she has a family who are just coin greedy, Rosalia turns out to have compassion for others and she doesn't hold back with her sarcastic nature. This is a keeper and I can't stop now, I must have the other 2 books in this series of "Bad Boys of the Highlands" Happy reading everyone.
This is the story of Rosalia and Ciaran MacGregor. Rosalia ran away when she was being forced to wed a wicked Lord. The laird of Glenorghy, who had been at court in England, was going home when two of his warriors found an injured Rosalia. When he heard her grandmother lived in Scotland he took her with them. This is a good book but for some of the dumbness for Rosalia. This is a woman of 21, who knew nothing of babies, never held a baby & lived in a fortress/castle with quite a few people until a couple of years before she ran away from home. In those couple of years her parents had to let most of the help go because they had run out of money. Unexplained gaps of a few weeks, overlooked with a vague reference. Victoria Roberts does blend her characters fairly well and keeps the story moving along. I liked the storyline. I think this book cost about $5.00. If you can find it for less it would be worth the money.
I did not want to put this book down from the moment I started reading.

Rosalia was a wonderful heroine. Strong & just stubborn enough. Kind, thoughtful and acted like a grown woman.

Ciaran was definitely an alpha male that I adored (!) and I actually loved his ability to be kind, yet tough, even with family members, and not give in and walk away when he wanted information out of Rosalia (or anyone). He was just the perfect hero, in my opinion.

I loved the way Ms. Roberts weaved their story together. It kept me interested and entertained the entire time. I realized as I was reading this that this is actually the third story I have read of hers. This one is most definitely my favorite out of those three.

This one is a keeper for me. I look forward to reading it again one day.
Rosalie has lived a life of abuse and scorn at the hands of those of all people who should protect her, her parents. When the family is in dire straights her parents arrange to wed her to a nasty old man for coin. This action pushes Rosalie to drastic measures... she cuts her hair, dresses as a lad and escapes into the night. Suffering from the abuse she has suffered and worn out she falls from her horse to be discovered by Ciaran and his men as they return home from court.

Under the lairds protection she comes to learn what a family can mean and how life should be, the question is will she ever be deserving of such happiness.

There are many twists and turns as both Rosalie and Ciaran learn what it means to rescue and be rescued.

I loved the character development and the playful banter between all the characters. This was a fun read!
The injured young boy that Laird Claran MacGregor helps on his way home from court is actually Rosalia Armstrong. She was beaten by her parents for refusing an arranged marriage. Rosalia was mistreated all her life by her mother so she felt the only thing to do was run away.

After Claran finds Rosalia hurt and alone he agrees to help her. She falls in love with his home, family and then the Laird himself. They get to know each other in the months that follow and it takes a kidnapping by the “bloody” Campbells for Claran to realize he can’t live without Rosalia.

This is a wonderful story of two people who find each other despite lies, deceit and betrayal. You walk through this story easily, getting to know each of the characters smoothly, seeing the highlands through words as though you were there with the characters in the story.

This is the first in a bad boys series of the highlands by Victoria Roberts. Check out this set for a great trip to the highlands
